About NextGen's Python Summer Camp in NYC
Python is the world’s fastest-growing programming language. It’s versatile enough to be used for both web development and data science and it’s also one of the most powerful programming languages in existence. The real reason it’s popular, though? It’s one of the easiest programming languages to learn for beginners but it can be used throughout an entire data science or web development career.
Python is a great first language to learn and provides a solid foundation for learning other programming languages, like Java, later. There is a major gap in the amount of Python programmers that employers need to hire and the actually proficient programmers that are available. This imbalance of supply and demand could be your ticket to an incredibly lucrative career.
Why attend a data science bootcamp in high school?
Python programmers who focus on data science are in high demand right now because businesses are leaning on data more than ever. They’re using it to predict sales, recommend items for customers, sort their products, or boost their advertising efforts. Data science jobs are also available in research and development.
When you learn Python, you won’t just be learning the most fun programming language (yes, it was literally designed to be fun to use), you’ll also be setting yourself up for a successful career. Whether you want to be an entrepreneur, work for a startup, find a stable position at an agency or corporation, break into finance, or do research data science, Python will take you there.

Summer Data Science Bootcamps in NYC for High School Students
Learn Python this summer in New York City with one of NextGen’s summer bootcamps! Our bootcamps are held on weekdays over the course of two weeks, so you don’t have to worry about giving up your whole summer or even weekends.
The Python for Data Science Summer Camp is the perfect choice for anyone who is ready to dive into data science. It’s also great if you can’t decide between learning web development and data science because Python can be used for both of these applications.
If you’d rather learn from home, you can sign up for the Python for High Schoolers Summer Course Live Online. It’s just three hours a day over the course of two weeks. Live online courses are a great alternative to in-person learning. They provide the same small class sizes, real-time instruction, accountability, and face-to-face instructor assistance as in-person but don’t provide as much opportunity for socializing.
You might be more interested in web or software development. For this, we recommend the Java Programming Summer Camp. This camp is held in NYC as well but there is an online version of Java Programming Summer Camp too. It focuses on learning Java, prepping for the AP computer science exam or college-level programming.
If you’d like to learn Java and Python at the same time, that’s possible too! You can take the Computer Science Summer Certificate to learn both Java and Python in one course. You don’t have to decide between these two powerful programming languages and you’ll get to learn about both data and development. This course is live online and it's held on weekdays for six weeks.
