Who teaches NextGen classes?
All of our programs are taught by expert instructors who have extensive teaching experience and industry knowledge.
How large are NextGen classes?
NextGen's classes range in size but always follow an 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
Where are NextGen’s classes located?
All our courses are available live online. Attendees can interact with the instructor in real-time and will learn with hands-on projects. Students can also choose attend in-person in NYC (185 Madison Avenue).
What coding and/or computer skills do students need to register?
All of our courses are open to students with little to no background in coding. Some students come in with no coding experience at all while others have extensive experience in one or more programming language. Our courses are designed for everyone to learn and be challenged!
Students will need basic computer skills to attend any NextGen course.
Do students need their own computer?
For in-person classes, we provide a computer for use during the course. Live online attendees should have their own computer.
Mac or PC is available (choose at checkout) for most courses.
Is there a lunch break during class? What time?
For day classes that run 10am to 4pm ET, there is a one-hour lunch break, typically around 1pm. The exact break time may vary. There may also be some shorter (5-10 minute) breaks throughout the course depending on the session's pacing.
For classes that run 10am to 1pm, 1:30pm to 4:30pm, or in another three-hour time slot, there are only short breaks.
What happens if I need to miss a session?
You have some options:
- If you can’t come into the classroom, but can still attend remotely (live online using a screen sharing app), please let us know ahead of time. You can access the Zoom link to attend your class remotely by logging into https://classesportal.com/.
- You can make up that session in a future offering of the class, provided that the class is running with an available seat.
- You can watch the class recording and go through the workbook exercises for that session. Ask your instructor about what you’ll be missing.
Are international students welcome at NextGen? Do I need a student visa?
International students are welcome to take our classes, either live online or in-person if they are traveling to the U.S. You do not need a student (F1) visa to take classes at Noble Desktop.
We are unable to assist with visa applications or sponsorship.
Do NextGen classes count as college credit?
No, NextGen classes cannot be counted as college credit.
However, NextGen classes can be a great way to prepare for college classes in coding, design, computer science, finance, and other topics.
How long has NextGen been running summer tech camps?
NextGen Bootcamp has been running summer tech courses since 2016, starting with a summer coding intensive led by a Harvard computer science professor. We have since branched out into offering courses in coding, data science, graphic design, finance, video editing, motion graphics, and more.
How old are NextGen students?
NextGen's classes are primarily geared toward ages 13-18.
Payment
Do you offer payment plans or financial aid?
Currently, NextGen Bootcamp does not offer payment plans or financial aid.
Do you offer any discounts for classes?
For select classes, NextGen offers seasonal Early Bird Discounts for early registrants. Early Bird Discounts are applied automatically at checkout.
For the largest savings, enroll in a course bundle. These programs are discounted packages of two or more summer courses.
Student Life
Is there any homework?
There is no required homework for NextGen classes. However, the instructor may provide optional assignments that can be done for practice outside of class.
How does lunch work?
For classes with a lunch break, students are welcome to bring or buy lunch. Parents can submit a lunch waiver to give their child permission to go off-campus for lunch. The facility has a common area where students can eat.
Is student lodging available?
Since this is a day program, we do not have dorms or student lodging available.
